Christmas

This year we seemed to have a Disney theme going on, or more of a Princess Aurora theme. Here are a few pictures of the Disney things Aurora got.

She loves to play games so we got her this one and she also got a Princess DVDV (as she says, she thinks DVD has an extra V) game.
A girl can never have too many dolls, we now have three Sleeping Beauty dolls that all have the exact same face.
Her first barbie doll, guess what it is. Yup another Sleeping Beauty. She also got another Sleeping Beauty barbie, and a Prince Philip from her Aunt Sissa.
Grandma just had to get her a doll that was almost as big as she is. She now has a friend to sing and dance with when Mommy has to do other things.
Finally something that is not Disney! Aunt Wendy gave her a kitchen. Every little girl needs a kitchen. She is one spoiled child.

Santa brought her the Star Station. For those of you who do not know what it is, it is a karaoke like machine. It plays music and has two microphones and a camera that puts the child on TV. Now she can watch herself sing and dance. She loves to perform

Here is the video of Aurora coming out and seeing her present from Santa.

Family Home Evening

For Family home evening we went to the temple a few Monday's ago to listen to the music program and walk around the temple grounds. Here are a few pictures.

Aurora wanted to get a closer look at baby Jesus.
I love the temple in the background.

Playing in the SNOW!!!

Can you imagine, snow in San Diego? Poway community center every year sets up a life size version of the Candyland game. Along with that they also had snow, lots of snow. We took Aurora up there and she had fun playing in it.

She got to see Santa again and meet Rudolph.

The apron is a Home Depot kids apron, they wrote the kids' names on them and helped them paint a candle stick holder.

Here is Aurora trying to make a snow angel. The cold did not both her at all.

Santa

We took pictures with Santa on Saturday. Aurora loves to give Santa a hug and tell him what she wants for Christmas, but when it comes to sitting on his lap she just in not quite sure about that. She could not wait to get a candy cane though.

Aurora's research study

Two weeks ago Aurora was able to participate in a research study up at UCSD. It was a study on the bond between a mother and child. As part of the study they took my picture and the picture of another female that Aurora did not know and showed them to her on a TV screen. She had to wear a special cap to monitor her brain activity to see how it reacted to the pictures. Here is a picture of Aurora wearing the hat. She was so good about it. They had to put the gel that is used in ultrasounds into the little white circles in the cap to get a better picture. Her hair was so gross after, but she had fun and sat still the whole time.

What Comes after X?

Friday night Aurora was playing in the bathtub and singing her ABC's. She got to X and asked me what comes next, so I simply said "Y". She gave me one of her looks and said "because I forgot Mommy, what comes after X." She just cracks us up.

Getting ready for Thanksgiving

Yesterday while we were getting ready to leave for Thanksgiving dinner Aurora disappeared and was very quiet. I found her in the bathroom and she was putting on makeup because she "wanted to be pretty like mommy". Luckly she did not open any of my makeup so she did not get any on, but it sure was cute to watch.
