Perfect way to spend the summer!

We just got it on friday.  Aurora has gone out there everyday to read no matter how hot it is.

Summer project (a work in progress)

I was looking at pinterest and came across this fairy house, and thought it would be so fun to have one in our front yard.  The tree we have in the front had the perfect spot of it.  Aurora and I figured it would be a good summer project.  We started it today, and it looks so cute already.  I tried to let Aurora have most all of the say in how it would look.  She hopes that a fairy will like it and decide to move in.

It is still missing something, so it is going to be a work in progress for awhile.

Last Day as a first grader

On Aurora's last day of school I went in and brought her cookies and ice cream.  After the kids were done eating we went outside to take some class pictures.  I can not believe she is going into the second grade next year.  Why does time have to go by so fast?

School Talent Show

Aurora's school had a talent show the second to last day of school.  She had to try out for it and was chosen to be in it. She did a great job.  Next year she wants to sing a bigger song.

Kansas City Temple

We were able to go to the Kansas City open house. We left early enough to go to Liberty Jail before our session at the open house.  What an amazing experience! The jail was so fascinating, and the temple was beautiful. I loved being able to take Aurora and show her the temple.  It was wonderful to be walking through the temple with my little family, it was such a great testimony building trip.

Updates Starting with Easter time

I know I have been horrible at updates, so here they come.  There will be a lot of pictures, and more then one post.  My parents came out for Easter time.  My mom took Aurora out to go shopping for a birthday present. Aurora picked out this dress (she loves to wear dresses).

                                   This is the pretty braid we decided to do in her hair.

We took Oma and Opa to the zoo with the cousins.  It was the first time they had been there, but it was way too crowded.  It was also opening day for the new aquarium.  Here are some pictures from the zoo.

The Saturday we went to a community Easter egg hunt.  We have gone to this one every year and it is always fun. They have free food, games, face painting, bounce houses.  

 Our stake put on a children's musical from the c.d. Scripture Scouts.  It was about the life of Christ, perfect for Easter time.  Aurora was part of the choir, and had a special musical number with a few other girls.  It was really cute.  The whole choir was suppose to look like a garden.

 Here is Aurora in her Easter dress.  She was given press on nails for her birthday that just happened to match her dress perfectly.  I can not believe how grown up she is starting to look.

 After church on Easter we went to my brother's house for dinner and an egg hunt.
