Feeding the birds and climbing trees

Jay works downtown now, and there is a beautiful lake with ducks and geese right there.  So today we went and fed them while we were waiting for Jay to get off.  One of the geese walked up to Aurora and ate the bread from her hand.  Then just as we were almost out a whole group of geese came running at us wanting bread, they scared Aurora and she was ready to go.
On our way back to the car there was a pretty tree that she wanted to climb, and I was able to get some cute pictures of her and the flowers in the tree.

Birthday Party

We had Aurora's birthday party at the YMCA, she is into mermaids so we figured swimming is the best thing for a mermaid party.  Here are some pictures of the party.

Happy Birthday Aurora

Aurora's birthday was last Wednesday.  I took her after school to get a pedicure/manicure.  The nail place has new kid pedi chairs.  These are the only pictures I have of her on her birthday.

Soccer

The weather has been beautiful lately.  One evening before dinner Aurora and Jay went outside to play a little soccer.

Surfer

On Thursday the 15th, Aurora's school had a sports day.  We did not have any sports jerseys, so she went as a surfer. I cut out a surf board for her and she painted it. Perfect for a California girl!

Discovery Fair

Last week Aurora's school held a discovery fair, like a science fair, but if you don't like science you can do a project on history.  Aurora learned all about yeast, what it is, where it is found, how it works.  She then made cinnamon twist bread.  She had samples out for people to try. The pictures are of her making the bread.  She also had dry yeast in a bowl, yeast proofing, and dough that was rising.  She did a great job, and was able to explain it to anyone who asked.
