Carving Pumpkins and decorating cookies

Last Monday we carved pumpkins and decorated Halloween cookies for Family Home Evening. Aurora really hated cleaning the "guts" out of her pumpkin. She picked a white one this year. I let her draw the face and then I carved it out for her.

Halloween at the Wild Animal Park

On the 24th we went to the Wild Animal Park for their Halloween thing. It was OK. They had a few crafts and some trick or treating and some carnival games. Aurora liked it. Here are a few pictures from it. There was a bridge that led over to the games and they had a "troll" under it that scared Aurora at first, because she did not know he was there.

Yesterday Aurora and I went to the zoo for a little bit. Here are two cute picture I took of her.
This one she was trying to smell the flower.

This is a mother peacock and her three babies that came up to Aurora. All four of them came right un to her.

I let her take the camera and take what ever pictures she wanted to take. Some of them are reall good. It is funny to see what she took pictures of. I put them into a slideshow for anyone who wants to see them.

I could not get the slideshow to post on here so here is the link to it:

Sewing

I decided to make myself an apron. I think it turned out OK. I was off on the measurements and it is kind of big, but it will work. The hand towel is removable and I can change it to match the season. I think I like it.

What post would not be complete without a picture or two of Aurora. My mom made her this shawl and I added a snap on it so it will stay closed. I love it and so does Aurora. It is so soft and cuddly.

"Running" through sprinklers

Twice a week the gardener waters the lawn with a homemade sprinkler system. One of those days is Wednesday. Every Wednesday we go to church for a play group and on the way home Aurora asked to "run" through the sprinklers. She walks up to them and squats in the middle until she is soaking wet. It is funny to watch and she loves it. Here are some pictures of her "running" through the sprinklers

Walking home.

Hair

Aurora's hair is finally long enough to braid. It is still pretty thin, but she loves to have it braided. She also likes to have pigtails and a ponytail using my hair ties. Here are some pictures of her hair styles.

Trip to Pennsylvania

So we have been back from our trip for a week now, and I am just posting about it. Something happened to our pictures and I can not access them, Jay is working on it. We had a great time. Aurora got to meet my Oma, who called her self Tic Tac Oma (my mom said clocks say tic tac not tick tock, and great oma is something in germany like hour grandma. So she figured Tic Tac Oma was easier for the kids to say.) Aurora also got to hang out with her cousins who live in Omaha. They hit it off right away and had so much fun. My mom bought Aurora a pony, even let her pick it out. Her name is Tinker Bell, she is so sweet and cute. Aurora was a able to ride her with and without a saddle. We got her from an Amish farmer, and his boys always rode her without. We aslo got a pony cart with her and Oma gave all the kids rides in the cart. Here is a picture of Tinker Bell hitched to the cart with the kids in it ready for a ride. (I "stole" these pics off my sis-in-laws blog. Thanks Melissa. When we get ours working I will post more pictures)

We also got to go to Hershey Park. It was a lot of fun, and it did smell a little like chocolate. Here is Aurora and me on one of the rides, and you can see Opa and Makenna behind us.

Here is a picture of the three girls in dresses that I made for them. The girls are so cute, aren't they.

Here is a picture at a farmers market. From left to right it is: Breille (the little one by the stroller), Tic Tac Oma, Oma, Makenna, Aurora, Brayden, and Melissa. Kevin and I were both taking pictures of them.

Thanks again Mom and Dad for having us. We really had a great time. Hopefully Jay will be able to get the other pictures working and I will be able to post them.
